Privacy

Window blinds and window shades are the perfect solution to add privacy to any room. All window blinds and shades offer privacy, although the degree of privacy can change. Here are some solutions for adding privacy.

Window Shades
Lighter colored and one cell shades often can show a silhouette. These shades are typically light filtering and can give your room a nice, soft glow; very flattering light for anyone and any room. To add more privacy to these, consider adding a privacy liner, which will give your Honeycomb & Cellular shades more privacy.

Heavier weight fabrics, darker colors, and double cell shades add more privacy and are traditionally room darkening, which will let in less light when fully closed. You can still elect to add a privacy liner to these shades, which will help you maintain a consistent look from the outside of your house.

If you have a view you would like to keep, consider electing a bottom up or top down/bottom up, that will allow you add privacy and keep the bottom portion of the window covered but still see the outside from the top.

Window Blinds
Window blinds are great for adding privacy as well as letting in varying amounts of light. You can have them fully closed or tilt the slats up to 180 degrees to adjust the level of privacy and light you want to let into your room.

Consider adding cloth tapes to your blinds, which will cover up the holes that are traditionally found in window blinds. Or, you can choose routeless blinds which operate without holes.
